The Typhoon's Dangerous Wife

Chapter 123 - Family Comes First

He Xiang was having brunch with his daughter when Zhenyi approached him. Pine Farms was a luxury resort situated at the banks of a river. It was a perfect place for spending time with family.

"To what do I owe the pleasure of receiving a visit from President Xin herself?" He Xiang spoke as he stood up to shake hands with her.

He Xian\'s daughter was a young girl who not more than the age of seventeen years old. She gazed at the unexpected interloper and stood up to give them privacy.

"I\'m really sorry for intruding on your family time," Zhenyi spoke as she took a seat before He Xian. Fan Bingbing stood straight beside her.

"Are you really?" He Xian raised his brows.

"Well, not really," Zhenyi answered back.

A giggle escape He Xian\'s daughter\'s mouth when she heard Zhenyi\'s retort. No one ever talked to his father so nonchalantly. Not even her.

"Then you should not say words you do not mean," He Xian glanced at her arrogant face and reprimanded her.

"Right back at you, President He. " Zhenyi smiled. "One shouldn\'t speak words that they don\'t mean. One shouldn\'t also make promises, they can\'t keep."

He Xiang pursed his lips. He knew where she was coming from.

"I heard you have a meeting with CEO Du. Also heard you\'re letting him buy something which doesn\'t belong to him in the first place." Zhenyi said as she poured a tea for herself.

"President Xin, we are business-minded people. We\'ll do business where we see the profit and I see it with CEO Du. Moreover, I have few more reasons for not continuing the deal with you," He Xian explained.

Du Zheng indeed approached and he certainly had every intention of accepting his business proposal. But at the same time, he didn\'t want to come between their war and sacrifice himself as collateral damage.

"Ah? Then let me hear your reasons? " said Zhenyi and sipped on her tea. She looked at He Xian\'s daughter and said " What\'s your name?"

The girl blinked at her and when she realized that she had asked her something, a blush tinted her naturally rosy cheeks.

"Mya," the girl said with a smile and kept staring into Zhenyi\'s eyes. She was trying to figure it out that her eyes were really of different colors or it was the sunlight flashing at her orbs.

"Mya," Zhenyi repeated and looked at He Xiang. " Do you have any son, President He?"

He Xiang just looked at her, wondering where she was getting at.

"No. She is my only child."

"Now, the puzzles fall into the place. What did Du Zheng offer you? Is he marrying your daughter when she turns eighteen?"

"Miss Xin, do you even know what you are saying?" He Xiang snapped.

Miss Xin, it was now. Good. Very good.

"Then, he must have asked your daughter\'s hand for one of his brothers." It was not a question. She was sure about it.

Mya looked at her father and then at Zhenyi. She wanted to ask something but she kept her indifferent expressions. She didn\'t know if her father was really arranging her marriage, she wanted to ask but she wouldn\'t in front of a stranger.

"That\'s our family matter you need not speak into it," He Xiang told her indifferently.

"Of course, let\'s leave the family matter aside and come to the point. President He, when are you signing the acquisition papers? Should I inform board members? Is 9 in the morning okay for you?" Zhenyi asked, still sipping on her tea.

Fan Bingbing was getting headache dealing with numerous problems that Du Zheng had dumped on their head in one go. But she had also promised Xin Yichen that she would make sure that the business war didn\'t turn bloody unnecessarily.

"President Xin, we are not continuing the acquisition. My lawyer will contact you and we will pay for the breach of contract."

"Of course, you will. I wonder what President Long will think about your change of mind." Zhenyi mused.

Fan Bingbing suppressed the chuckle rising in her throat hearing her throwing the weight of her unwanted husband.

Poor brother-in-law. Last time, she didn\'t even agree to take his help and now she was using his name.

"What about him?" He Xiang suddenly straightened up.

Who didn\'t know about the infamous current head of the Long family? There were rumors that he was recently married but to whom and when it was still the biggest question in the minds of high society members.

"Do I have to say that aloud?" Zhenyi raised her brow.

"President Xin, I\'m sure Long Groups will be more than willing to continue the deal with Du cooperation in place of Xin cooperation," said He Xiang. He paused and looked at his daughter who was playing with her puppy. " I\'m not against you, President Xin but this time fate and time are against you. Du family and He family will be uniting soon and President Long won\'t have any problem with this."

Zhenyi chuckled and shook her head. " Why don\'t you check it yourself?"

"It is not just about business now, President Xin. It\'s about family. Family always comes first. You have to understand this and my daughter comes first before any business deal or profit," He Xiang helplessly said.

Zhenyi understood it more than anything. In her world, there was nothing more valuable than family. They killed for family, they lived for family and they looted for family.

Zhenyi nodded.

"Mya, "Zhenyi suddenly said.

" Yes?" The girl responded, still figuring out the mystery behind her eyes.

"What are you trying to figure out?" Zhenyi said as if reading her mind.

"Your eyes," she blurted before she could stop herself. She looked at her father who was scowling at her and then at Zhenyi who had an amused smile playing on her lips.
